The brand partnered with Los Angeles-based, Brazilian artist Adhemas Batista on a series of digital NFT art pieces. Since 2005, Batista has developed an extensive portfolio with Havaianas. This time around, the digital collection highlights the narrative between both the brand and the artist. Havaianas and Batista released five digital art pieces, depicting the collection’s theme of “Felicidade”, Portuguese for “happiness.” Batista revisited his history with Havaianas, citing some of his best moments with the brand. Since the project was based in the same region where he was born and raised, the artist chose Favela Galeria to receive a percentage of the net profits collected by Havaianas in this NFT auction. Part of Batista’s payment from the sales went to the same institution – an open-air art museum located on the east side of Sao Paulo. A SHOC® is a different kind of brand in the category – one geared toward young, independent, frequent energy drinkers who lead active lifestyles and enjoy belonging to communities focused on fitness, wellness, and other hobbies. With the new brand positioning “Charged by Nature” and rooted in California, the place where culture, entertainment, and technology converge, the design approach was to revise the logo and the can labels with the west coast lifestyle in mind. They couldn't host their traditional Beastly Ball fundraiser in person to support the LA Zoo. Instead, they opted for a virtual event and invited me to volunteer and assist with the visual identity. As a long-time fan of the Zoo and frequent visitor with my kids, I was thrilled to contribute. For the event, I developed a visual identity featuring juxtaposed loose vector illustrations over animal photography, utilizing a bright and bold color palette with electric green as the primary accent. This technology offered artists new opportunities for recognition and income. While some thrived, many struggled for months to grasp the new technology and digital economy, all while meeting industry demands. As a digital artist, you were likely invited to join a crypto venture, perhaps to create something akin to the Bored Ape collection. I certainly fell into the trap, excited by the opportunity to create something fun around UFOs and Aliens. This led me to join the ANTZ project, an NFT venture celebrating sci-fi digital art with a colorful, whimsical alien character. Despite the project's financial failure, the experience was incredibly enjoyable. I also designed a diamond-shaped spaceship resembling the Ethereum coin symbol. For me, this was the perfect opportunity to create something I strongly believed in—a brand infused with diversity of thought expressed through the agency's distinct design philosophy. I wanted Deutsch LA's new visual identity to have a symbol that anyone could draw on a piece of paper. Something simple, easy and memorable enough for people to recognize and adapt to their own hand-drawing. The symbol needed to represent our people, the talents of the agency and the real commodity of our creative company. it's a brand that is part of their everyday lives.&nbsp;At Deutsch Los Angeles, we revised the visual identity for the overarching brand taking into consideration important findings from the strategy, the research over the competition, the category and consumer inputs. The updated design brings a slight revision to the logo for digital spaces, a new primary font and reinforce the importance of the unique 3 color stripes.
